B+LVNZ – #AltTextForAll
Every day over 6.6 billion images are uploaded to the Internet. But for the millions of people who are blind or have low vision, sharing in these images is a very limited experience. Every image uploaded to the Internet has ‘Alt Text’ functionality – enabling anyone who can’t see an image to experience it through a screen reader – but no one is using it well, if at all.
So, we launched the #AltTextForAll Movement – asking individuals and businesses to help open up the visual world by simply using the ‘Alt Text’ functionality when publishing digital images. Our online campaign directed people to the #AltTextForAll website, featuring all the the tools needed to join the movement.
